In his own words, nothing has been as exciting as being Sijo Bruce Lee’s student and close friend. Sifu Wong’s first encounter with Sijo Bruce Lee was in 1967, in Los Angeles,California. Sifu Wong was so impressed by Bruce Lee, that he decided to study martial arts at Sijo Bruce Lee’s Kwoon (school) Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute in Los Angeles, California.
Shortly after beginning his martial arts studies Sijo Bruce Lee saw something special in Sifu Ted Wong. Sijo Bruce Lee invited Sifu Ted Wong to his house, and took him as his private student. Sifu Ted Wong worked very hard under the tutelage of Sijo Bruce Lee, and not only was he a dedicated student, but he became Sijo Bruce Lee’s sparring partner. Sifu Wong watched Sijo Bruce Lee train and teach the best martial artists of their time, including the undisputed world heavy weight full contact Karate Champion Joe Lewis.
Sifu Wong is known today as one of the most knowledgeable men in the world when it comes to Bruce Lee’s Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do. Sifu Wong studied under Sijo Bruce Lee from 1967 to 1973, and he is a board member of the Bruce Lee Foundation.
